Top Makeup for Autumn 2016 with Ruby Cosmetics
With the changing of the seasons it's important to change up your makeup to match the latest beauty trends, giving you a new look to banish the Winter blues.
We caught up with Sophie Craig from Ruby Cosmetics, who will be exhibiting at this year's Girls Day Out Show, to find out her thoughts on the latest makeup trends for the Autumn and Winter seasons. It was interesting to hear about the rising trend in individualism through embracing your natural, beautiful features. This year's Autumn and Winter fashion weeks saw dark lips, glitter and flushed cheeks, with graphic liner and bold lashes, key looks that Sophie has pin pointed for the upcoming season.
We were lucky enough to find out the top five, favourite looks from Ruby Cosmetics that could be incorporated into your daily makeup routine this Autumn...
With the darker months ahead, it's time to get vampy with darker lips. There are many classic styles for the Autumn season from ruby reds to bold berry colours and coppery browns. Glitter is also gaining popularity this season! Sophie recommends trying the Ruby Shimmer Lipgloss in Ruby Red and Brown, perfect for getting vampy this Autumn.
It's time to get your blush on! Sophie has been busy doing her research, noticing such big designers as Vivienne Westwood focusing on a romantic, ethereal vibe within makeup this season, with models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner rocking their perfect complexions at French fashion house, Balmain. To achieve this look Sophie suggests trying Ruby’s L.A. Sheer Contour Kit, which includes a perfect pink blush. The contour kit is powder based and works well creating a natural looking complexion, with a powder contour allowing you to build up the perfect amount of colour to create a sheer, naturally flushed effect for Autumn, and avoid the dreaded ‘cakey’ look which is never in!
This particular look is definitely one for a night out in town as opposed to your daily routine. If you’re feeling bold and into more experimental makeup then read on! Recent Fashion weeks have seen models rocking this look on the runway at Topshop Unique, Jeremy Scott, Simone Rocha, Giamba, Ryan Lo and Kenzo. To achieve this look why not take a peek at the Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliner by Urban Decay, perfect for creating a bold, graphic liner, also exhibiting at this year's show.
Bold Natural Brows
Big brows continue for another season, emphasizing natural beauty, so you can put the tweezers firmly back in the drawer girls and let your brows do their own thing. However, for those who aren't blessed with naturally thick and bold brows you are going to need a little help to create the impression of a fuller brow! Sophie recommends using the Ruby Brow Powder, with colours ranging from Irid Brown to Charcoal. You can find out what colour you should be using in the Ruby Cosmetic Brow Guide for naturally full looking brows. The brow kits also include stencils so you can master that perfect natural shape!
With such Fashion week designers as Emporio Armani and Jason Wu presenting some eccentric ways to make your eyes pop this season, from foiled lids, broken glass effects, glitter and messy clumped lashes against fresh skin, the textured eye is a firm favourite to stay for the Winter season. Sophie suggests if you aren't after a daring look you can create a more toned down version by using a shimmery shadow, or by using a brown mascara when layering up the lashes. You could try the Beyond Mascara and Creaseless Cream by Benefit, exhibiting at this year's show.
We hope you ladies follow this killer Autumn makeup guide by Ruby Cosmetics and make a grand entrance at Girls Day Out in December!
