2017 Autumn Makeup Trends
This autumn get ready to break free from the current no-makeup makeup: with electric eyeshadows sweeping across the eyes, berry lipsticks being popular, and metallic pigments painted artistically across the face.
1) Heavy Metal
This fall expect a range of colourful eyeshadows to trend. The main key texture – this season will be metallic in a variety of shades. Metallics will be swept across your eyelids creating a beauty statement of strength. Expect gold, black and red shadows to be blended together combining beauty and strength.
2) Brandon Maxwell
This eye look is both strong and unapologetic, creating a fierce black-and-metallic eyeshadow.
3) Balmain
This African inspired fall collection from designer Olivier Rousteing was a mix of exotic furs and textiles, all created in a palette of rich, warm colours, metallics and ornate prints. This look is all about the eyeshadow: a punch of black cream shadow swept around the eye and extended along the lower lashline. Silver pigment can be dashed along the lower lashline, while the top lid can be accentuated with a dab of metallic copper. This look sends a message of strength – the woman who wears it is not be messed with.
4) Alex Mabille
This season is all about touches of metallics: a little silver swept under the eye, a little copper pressed on the centre of the lid. You can paint a gold pigment across your eyelids in a brushstroke pattern. The rest of the face leave bare. The eyes are matched only in shine-factor by gold chrome nails.
5) Nicholas K
Sleek hair and gold glitter eyes make up this look, with Glitter and Glow Liquid Eye Shadow transforming you into a Golden Goddess, lining both your upper and lower lashline. A little contouring can help enhance the overall warm glow of the look, finishing with a swipe of Apricot Lip Glaze, a pinky-nude shade with a slick finish.
6) Les Copains
The smokey eye is still in, but this time with a copper twist. The 80s power suit equivalent for eye makeup, this look is perfect for that big night out or for occasions that require that little extra edginess, the copper added a really autumnal feel to your look.
7) Laura Biagiotti
This golden look, draws upon yellow hues within both the eye makeup and nail design.
8) Christian Siriano
This look creates dripping “rivers” of copper eyeshadow only really wearable on the runway, but the fishtail braid combines bits of copper strung throughout the hair creating the perfect look for going out or that special occasion this Autumn.
9) La Perla
This look has created a burgundy eye or lip, drawing inspiration from the British gardens. The bold eye was achieved by layering a lip liner, the same lipstick, plus two eyeshadows.
10) Genny
This is a delicate take on metallics, the silver shimmer sweeping up to the brow bones, only be seen in certain light.
11) Emporio Armani
This designer has given us a new failproof colour combination: Barbie pink and glittering chrome, a great eye catching feminine look for the Winter season.
12) Elie Saab
Combining a black smoky eye with a layer of glitter, this look blends liner and shadow around the eyes, with two different micro glitter pigments in silver and gold, making the eyes appear delicate, feminine, and soft.
13) Arty Blackliner
Ready to colour outside the lines with your basic black eyeliner? Simply drag it along your crease, scribble it all over your lids, or smear it on with your fingers – the possibilities are endless.
14) Chloe
The beauty look is going more punk this autumn, tracing and smudging black pencil and gel liner around the your lids. The line is ever so lightly flicked out, topped with gloss before hitting the runway.
15) Thierry Mugler
This look had a futuristic element to it, with a nod to power dressing in the ‘80s. With slicked-back and side-parted hair this look has a slightly retro feel, the floating black liner fit for a starship!
16) Versace
This Versace show debuted a new black shadow that’s somehow both matte and slick. It’s creamy and incredible to blend, drying completely!
17) Yves Saint Laurent
Forget the bare face of the summer. This look incorporates a wing of messy black pigment, simply created by dipping your fingers in shockmascara, swiped it across your lids. This look draws upon the idea of needing to get ready in a hurry, which is a daily occurrence for many of us.
18) Osman
Looking to refresh your look? Try artfully smudging black pigment on the outside corner of glossy lids.
19) Marni
Try this heavy-handed black liner approach, continuing to the lower lashes for an impacting look.
20) Julien Macdonald
Create rich-girl waves and an intense smoky lid for a powerful smouldering look.
21) Prada
Go for a classic black liner, traced all around the eyes, paired with a blue-violet pigment.
22) Berry Lips

23) Giambattista Valli
This look creates a clean, glowing and minimal look with the exception of a dark berry glossy lip stain.
24) Valentino
This look creates deep burgundy lips with a graphic reverse cat-eye, traced along the lower lid in a similar shade, matching your eyes and lips.
25) La Perla
This look incorporates Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick, in Midnight Merlot, wiping away a dash colour from the centre to lend a ‘brightness’ to the look.
26) Jonathan Simkhai
This look uses plum lipstick to make the pearl accents seem less precious, a dramatic powerful look for the upcoming season.
27) Jill Stuart
This isn’t your average red lip, giving a deep burgundy tone which is the centre point to the look, without the need to accentuate the rest of the face.

33) Anna Sui
We often seen red and blue paired together, but Anna Sui creates a twist creating metallic cobait and blackened cherry for a more interesting take on the look.
34) Colour Pop
Makeup artists are no longer shy about dipping their brushes into a rainbow of colours this season, using eyeliners in colours so bright they could double as crayons! Pair pink liner with a wash of pastel eyeshadow. The only rule for wearing this much colour? Make it a statement strong enough to stand on its own, without the need for lip colour, blush or mascara to make the colour pop.
35) Emilio De La Morena
This beauty look can leave you feeling hypnotized. Which is what makes the wild, fun and visually striking striped eye look so special. If you’re after a look with a difference this is the one for you!
36) Vivienne Westwood
This year’s collection by Vivienne Westwood is electrically bright, very pretty but still super punk. This look sweeps pigments of colours like teal, orange and red around the eye; with black or red liner traced along the crease and lower lashline in haphazard and uneven lines.

If you’re looking to liven up your look this Winter why not inject some colour into your look with powder blue eyeshadow applied in a crisp rounded shape to really create a stand out statement.

While this look isn’t very wearable, the baby blue shadow around the entire eye area and above the brows, is an artsistic take on this seasons colour trend, and a look for the more bold and daring of us.
44) Fyodor Golan
Pastels don’t just have to be used in Spring, they can also work in Autumn. The wash of pastel shadow can be paired with a deep cobalt nail shade to really give you a look an edge this season.
45) Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini
Give your look a subtle pop of violet this Autumn, a soft, natural look that will give your everyday look a pretty twist.

47) J JS Lee

48) Marco De Vincenzo
Looking to go bold this Autumn? Try out blue lipstick with bold accessories to match, giving a slightly space age look during the Winter months.

52) Versus Versace
Try a strong swipe of colour along your eyelids this Autumn, to give a powerful look that screams strength and empowerement. A look for the bold.
53) Lashing Out
This season it’s all about the lashes. Clumped together lashes will be having a moment. Instead of applying mascara in the way we're used to - root to tip – instead drag the wand along the tips of the lashes, going side to side and not necessarily coating each lash entirely. This will help to clump or stick the lashes together to create what looks like just five or six extra-thick, long, almost animated-looking lashes.
54) Emporio Armani
Give silvery eyeshadow a go this season and highlight beautiful, fluttery lashes to give a truly pretty, feminine look.

59) Aigner
After a subtle look this Autumn? This look is the one for you, with soft pink eyes and lips, a pretty feminine look for the colder Winter months.
60) Altuzarra
This look draws upon sweet, Victorian innocence. Simply pull the hair back into a low ponytail, serving as the perfect canvas for custom headbands. This look draws upon a palette of luminous pale pink shades, and a deep burgundy nail adding a fierce edge to the look.

71) Marchesa
This Autumn why not apply your pink blush high across your cheekbones and eyes to give a youthful glow.
72) Moschillo
This season why not wash your eyes in warm pink shadow topped with clear gloss to give a truly feminine, soft glow.
73) Nina Ricci
This fall collection by Nina Ricci focuses upon blush redux, swept across the entire cheekone – from apple to temple – the soft pink flush giving a touch of youth to your look. Made up of a cream formula, buffed and blended with a brush, leaving the most skin-like and natural effect. A similar rosy-pink shade can be traced on the lips not unlike a worn-out lip liner.
