The Autumn/Winter 2017 Trends

This season will see a new spirit of dressing up and female solidarity as autumn arrives. There will be soft power dressing in the form of fluted dresses, with the shades of the season focusing upon blue hues.

1) Suiting

This season consider the tailored trend with pronounced shoulders, double breasted cuts and elegantly pressed slacks for both in and out of the office.

2) Forties Blue

810

Switch shades of pink and purple in favour of modest, dusky blue. The moody tones recall post-war polish. Welcome the new ‘It’ colour.

3) Return of the Waist

Cinched

Feminism is a key factor this season. Drawing upon sci-fi heroines, sculptural silhouettes, and cinching belts, with the eye line being firmly fixed upon a commanding womanly waist. Power dressing is back.

4) That Seventies Show

Seventies

The Seventies are a favourite trend for the upcoming Autumn, with such fabrics as shearling and corduroy taking centre stage. The colour palette focuses upon sticky toffee, caramel and camel. There is also plenty of attitude in this style with disco glam florals and preppy Love Story swagger.

5) Soft Leather

Soft Leather

Soft leather is in this season with a ladylike spin making it look particularly sharp in suiting. Expect to see soft leather skirts, trousers and jackets in both brown and black leather.

6) The Fluted Dress

Flute

This go-anywhere dress is not going anywhere! Liquid satin lends itself to elegant day wear with dainty heels; whilst embroidered velvet works well with long boots.

7) Continental Quilt

Quilted

Say goodbye to the puffa and hello to the quilted blanket coat. Many now come with wallpaper prints or jewelled satins, giving your look a really quirky, fun edge.
